Accessory Navicular Type 1 အရိုးရောဂါတမျိုး
There are three types of accessory naviculars: Type I is an ossicle in the substance of the posterior tibial tendon; Type II forms a synchondrosis with the navicular; and Type III, "the cornuate navicular," represents the possible end stage of Type II.
Accessory navicular type I is a small, round, or oval-shaped accessory ossicle unattached to the navicular bone. It is almost always asymptomatic and can be found on the plantar aspect of the tibialis posterior tendon at the level of the inferior calcaneonavicular ligament. An accessory navicular is a fairly uncommon condition which is rarely symptomatic. Oftentimes nonsurgical treatment is successful. In the minority of cases, surgical intervention is required. Patients typically do very well with conservative and surgical treatment.
The treatment for a symptomatic accessory navicular can be divided into nonsurgical treatment and surgical treatment. In the vast majority of cases, treatment usually begins with nonsurgical measures.
